Reading in February

I am on a reading streak again, I am blessed to be given a pile of one of the most entertaining and gripping books - S J Watson, Suzanne Collins & Jeanette Walls has been keeping me awake at night. Some evenings, I have to fight sleep to keep reading, that’s how entertaining every page is. And like any addict would know – I think I might have to go cold turkey soon. I am finishing the last part of a trilogy by Suzanne Collins. I have ran out of new books to read unless my significant other magically conjures up another pile of good books.

On that note, I have yet to read a full adult book in Flemish. I have read many children’s book but one for adult in Flemish, I don’t know how I will ever enjoy the book, honestly. I have tried but failed miserably as I felt I was reading it like some instruction booklet, not enjoying its meaning and the beauty of the written word. Perhaps I shall brave it again soon.

And what are your thoughts on watching a film based on a book you have read? Isn’t it tiresome how curious one get to see if the film is just as wonderful and in most cases, it turns out to be a complete disappointment. I don’t know how to cure myself of this, I am “tricked” into watching everytime! My recent disappointments trails from the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer to One day by David Nicholls. How the books were so wonderfully written and the film itself it such a letdown.

What are you reading currently? Do tell and recommend please.
