The Local Tourist

Unlike the country where I was born and raised, where I have practically seen almost every tourist attraction, parks, museums and shopping malls. Here in Belgium, I have yet to explore many more places of interest. It is after all 50 times bigger than where I came from.

Thus, since it’s the Easter school holidays and all 3 of us are at home, we headed to the Caves of Han-sur-Lesse. It is quite a bit of a drive from Ghent – almost 2 hours. It lies in the French speaking part of the country - a small, cosy and quaint village set against gorgeous rolling hills of the Ardennes . It is a whole day affair visiting the caves, the safari park and museums (a very family friendly place indeed). We enjoyed our visit so much, such a lovely place making it a perfect day trip especially for the little one!
